Southern Marin law enforcement gathered with the black community at the "Uncomfortable Conversation with Black Men and Southern Marin Law Enforcement" event in May.
"It's been a vision of mine for several years," said nonprofit and community leader Felecia Gaston.

Follow Up Letter from Felecia Gaston
Thank you for attending the first event entitled, "Uncomfortable Conversations with Black Men and Southern Marin Law Enforcement held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
On behalf of the organizers, we were all extremely pleased with the successful event capturing your most significant conversations. Attached is a Joint Action Plan that was captured from the actual event and some post converations held between both groups. If you were not able to participate in the follow up meetings, please feel free to add your comments before the next joint meeting.
It was evident that all of the participants would like to continue these conversations with an action plan. Therefore, we are setting up a time and place to meet before the end of July.
We realize that everyone's time is very valuable, however in order to continue some progress, these conversations must continue. Our goal is by next year, May 25, 2022, on the anniversary of the tragic death of George Floyd, we will be able to announce a significant joint action plan to the public at large of what we all have accomplished.
If you have any suggestions on a meeting place that can accommodate all of the participants, please feel free to send some recommendations.
We look forward to our next meeting together.
