This week's episode of "Beyond the Headlines" is about the importance of mentoring and the young people's lives that are turned around because of the positive influence of their mentors. Young people who have mentors have a better chance of succeeding and are more likely to make positive choices throughout their lives. Program cuts Marin County crime in half

A program aimed at cutting crime in a low-income neighborhood of Marin County is proving to be enormously effective. It appears to be reducing crime by nearly half.
